As the command ship for the U.S. Navy’s Sixth Fleet, the USS Mount Whitney represents all that Collins Machine Works (CMW) strives for: excellence in engineering and quality construction that’s meant to last a lifetime.
In our effort to inspire the next generation and help them accomplish excellence in our field, CMW has paired with Tidewater Community College to create an Apprenticeship program that challenges students while not just allowing them to learn a new trade, but become the very best at what they do.
As we continue to strive for excellence, it’s important to make sure our shops can keep up with our desire to constantly improve. That’s why we recently added a new machine to our shop, the Mazak QTN 450 II.
